The people and projects Source2Mod is built on.
Source2Mod — the core, the plugin system and the SDK — is written by
Michal "Slynx" Přikryl. It stands on other people's work, and this is who they
are. The same list is in ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS.md in both repositories, and
s2m credits prints the short version in the server console.
AlliedModders
Metamod:Source, which loads
Source2Mod, and s2sdk
(formerly HL2SDK's cs2 branch), which it compiles against, are AlliedModders
LLC's work — Metamod:Source by David "BAILOPAN" Anderson and Scott "DS" Ehlert.
Source2Mod's plugin manager, interface sharing and GameDLL communication
follow Metamod:Source's model, and s2sdk is its reference for engine
structures and interfaces.
Source2Toolkit
Source2Mod is the successor of Source2Toolkit, the C++ plugin framework by the same author: the core, the SDK and this website started as Source2Toolkit's and carried on under the new name, with SourcePawn added.
SourceMod and SourcePawn
The SourcePawn VM and JIT and the spcomp compiler are
SourcePawn, and the script API
follows SourceMod's — both
AlliedModders LLC's work. The parts of the include set that come from
SourceMod keep their AlliedModders LLC license headers.
KHook
KHook by Benoist "Kenzzer" André is the detour library Source2Mod and every plugin hook through — virtual, vtable and function detours on the one engine Metamod:Source runs, shipped as part of Metamod:Source.
CS2Fixes
Some reverse-engineered implementations and parts of the codebase are adapted from CS2Fixes (Source2ZE, GPL-3.0).
CounterStrikeSharp
The schema generator (tools/schemagen) started from
CounterStrikeSharp's.
SwiftlyS2
SwiftlyS2 is the reference the core gamedata is cross-checked against for signatures and virtual function indexes, and the base the sound system's reverse engineering started from. The core's gamedata validator is modelled on their gamedata-validator.
Libraries
- nlohmann/json — JSON on the native side.
- spdlog — logging.
- Breakpad — crash dumps.
- DynLibUtils — module and pattern scanning.
- SteamTracking/Protobufs — the game's protobuf definitions.
